About Racer Bobby Brooks

Bobby Brooks started his racing career in the late 80’s by first obtaining race training through the Jim Russel Racing Drivers School at Laguna Seca Raceway™ in Monterey California in 1987. After graduation he raced in the Jim Russell Racing™ series for 1 year and obtained his SCCA™ racing license. He flew between Hawaii and California for each race weekend. So they all pitched in and bought 3 Formula Mazda’s and rented 2 of them out at non-conflicting events to help offset their racing expense. When the cars were outdated, it was decided by all, to sell the cars and search for sponsors.
The time was 1993 and Bobby switched from Open wheel racing to Touring cars and picked up a ride with Mitsubishi Motorsports™ which at the time paid prize money for each event attended and specials for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. This was the year Bobby won his first Regional Racing Championship in the SCCA™.
In 1994 Mitsubishi pulled out of all motorsports and then it was back to one off rides at 24 Hours of Daytona and other venues before linking up to be the Chief Instructor at North Porsche™ Motorsports at Las Vegas Speedway™. There Bobby trained new and other well healed racers in the Porsche™ cars. One of his students later went on to join in the INDY 500™. Which again brought Bobby back to being more in the marketing and ownership of Open Wheel Indy Cars.
